The Dervish ceremony represents a mystical journey of man’s spiritual ascent through mind and love to the “Perfect”. Turning towards the truth, he grows through love, deserts his ego, finds the truth and arrives to the “Perfect”.

When I paint, I trance just like a Turning Dervish during his ceremony. My hand holds the brush in affection and mixes the colours, like a holy dancer full of concentration. When I find the correct tones, it is time to let my brush to move on the canvas spontaneously, in order to find his way towards the mysterious world.

Dervishes wear long white clothes with black boots. When the music begins, they start turning under a colourful light torrent by reflecting all the colours of rainbow. For emphasising this effect, I use oil colours: They are softer, tender, richer and more sensitive, allowing me to express my feelings and character as they are. They also help me to find the correct tones, values and nuances of my subject. I also use a lavander turpentine, whose smell makes me much more concentrate on my work.

I have never chosen this subject, I found it inside of my body, who spread over all my spirit.

Sema; “Mükemmel “e ulaşmak için aşk ile beden ile ilahi bir seyahattir.Gerçeğe doğru dönüş içimizdeki aşkı büyütür, benliğimizi doldurur ve sonunda bizi “Mükemmel”e ulaştırır.

Ben resim yaparken Sema sırasında dönen bir derviş gibi kendimden geçiyorum. Nazikçe elimde tuttuğum fırçam adeta bir semazen gibi dönerek paletimde renkleri karıştırıyor.Uygun tonları bulduğumda onları bu gizemli alemde yollarını kaybolmadan bulsunlar diye hemen tuvalime taşıyorum.

Semazenler siyah mest ve beyaz tennure giyerler.Müziğin ritmiyle , renkli ışık selinin altında gökkuşağı renklerini yansıtarak dönmeye başlarlar. Bu duyguyu verebilmek için ben; eserlerimde yağlı boya kullanmayı tercih ediyorum. O; hislerimi ifade edebilmek için yumuşak, hassas, zengin ve uysaldır.Konumun renk değer ve tonlarını bulabilmeme yardımcıdır.Kullandığım Lavanta Terebentini ise kokusuyla beni işime daha da konsantre eder.
